Mental health trust warned of legal action

23rd September 2010

The Care Quality Commission has issued its toughest warning yet to a trust for failing to make sufficient improvements after it had received an initial warning.

Devon Partnership Trust had been given the warning after failing to comply with a requirement to improve supervision and appraisal of staff. CQC South West regional director Ian Biggs said the regulator was “on the verge of legal enforcement action” against the mental health trust. Trust chief executive Iain Tulley said the organisation was main progress toward improvements.
