Mental health unit delayed

10th March 2011

The opening of new 12 bed, four tier inpatient mental health facility in Devon has been held up after a primary care trust failed to organise its registration with the Care Quality Commission.

The original opening was delayed form January 2011 until late February because of bad weather but NHS Plymouth has now been told by the CQC that it will now have to wait until mid-March for the go-ahead following its failure to organise registration in time for the opening of the new £4.1m facility for adolescents.
