16th April 2006
Microsoft has been awarded its biggest Australian contract in health.

The AU$32m (£13.4m) contract to supply server and office software to New South Wales Health is the largest ever contract the company has received in Australia. The initial three-year contract will supply NSW Health with 40,000 desktops and 2,500 servers, running Office and .NET technology.

The contract will allow all of the New South Wales IT network to operate on similar platforms which will improve connectivity between systems.
