Mid-life crisis begins in 30s

29th September 2010

A new survey has suggested that the mid-30s are the start of the unhappiest decade in many British people’s lives.

Work and relationship pressures are a major factor and out of 2,000 people questioned, more aged 35 to 44 said that they felt lonely or depressed than in other age groups. The survey was conducted for the relationship advice charity Relate, which said the findings revealed a "true mid-life crisis". Many people said they felt closer to friends than family, and a quarter said they wished they had more time for their family.
