MMR catch-up campaign not going well

9th April 2009

The GP-led MMR catch-up campaign is making slow progress, according to minutes from the Government’s advisory committee.

The last meeting of the JCVI heard that uptake has only risen slightly since its introduction with an increase in uptake of just 1.8% in the number of children receiving two doses of MMR. The Department of Health launched the catch-up campaign last August, aimed at children who had not received both doses of MMR vaccine after the number of cases of measles rose by 36%.
