More nightclub paramedics needed

27th October 2010

The President of the College of Emergency Medicine has said more paramedics working on site at nightclubs would ease the strain on A&E services.

John Heyworth, the President of the College of Emergency Medicine said clubbers needed "a lot of resources...they are often disruptive - or their friends are - and this puts a huge strain on the NHS, which frankly we could do without. If these patients can be safely managed at the scene by a paramedic, that is a great relief for us."
