More research for acne treatment needed

Experts writing in The Lancet have suggested that doctors need to have more robust evidence available to them to be able to give appropriate treatment advice to patients with acne.

The experts, led by Hywel Williams from the Centre of Evidence-Based Dermatology, University of Nottingham, have called for more research into widely used acne treatments to see which are effective. The common skin condition can affected four out of five teenagers and can also affect some people in older age groups.
