More want to die at home

Patients who are nearing the end of their lives should be actively helped to die at home if they wish to do so, says a new report.  Most people say they would prefer to die at home but there has been a drop in the number of people doing so despite increased provision for community palliative care in recent years.  The report authors say the reasons for the drop are complex adding, “For choice to be meaningful it must involve at least two, and preferably a range of, available, high quality options.?
