Move to combat hospital superbug

7th August 2007

Loudspeakers playing messages to remind staff to wash their hands are to be installed in three Midlands hospitals in a bid to combat hospital infections.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the Alexandra Hospital, in Redditch, Kidderminster Hospital, and Worcestershire Royal Hospital, in Worcester, hopes the devices will help in the fight against the socalled 'superbug' MRSA.

The machines are activated by movement and can be programmed to play any pre-recorded message.
