MRSA in babies

Preliminary results of a study by the Health Protection Agency show that a total of 147 babies and children suffered potentially fatal blood infections last year after contracting MRSA in NHS hospitals.

Over three quarters of the children in the study were under a year old. The research should “help hospitals see where the brunt of infections are and how to prevent themâ€?, said a spokeswoman.
