New ambulances for Scotland

Scotland's Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed that the ambulance service will be provided with £25.5 million to buy over 700 new ambulances.

The money is intended to give Scotland's ambulance service 1,410 vehicles by 2012. Ms Sturgeon said: "This investment will ensure the Scottish Ambulance Service has the right mix of modern, state-of-the-art vehicles to continue offering the best emergency care to the people of Scotland."
