New chair for Marie Curie

6th April 2010

Marie Curie Cancer Care has appointed the former chief executive of the NHS in Scotland Sir Don Cruickshank to be its new chairman.

Sir Don, who will take over from Sir Peter Davis later in the year, said: “I am delighted to be joining the charity. Marie Curie provides a remarkable free service to people with cancer and other terminal illnesses, along with much-needed support for their families.” He said that he was encouraged to see that end of life care in the UK is now gaining a much higher profile.
