New chief at Leicester trust

28th September 2012

University Hospitals of Leicester Trust has appointed John Adler as its new chief executive.

Mr Adler has been Sandwell and West Birmingham’s chief executive for a decade and takes up the post at Leicester left vacant following the departure of Malcolm Lowe-Lauri. Jim Birrell has been interim chief executive since in January at the £703m-turnover trust, which has already been escalated to the Department of Health for failing to meet its foundation trust application date and faces challenges on waiting times, maternity and cancelled operations.
