New chief for Barts

Barts and the London NHS Trust has appointed Peter Morris as its new chief executive.

Mr Morris replaced Julian Nettel as interim chief executive of the trust in March and took up the position permanently in the last few days. He is a former chief executive of University Hospital of South Manchester Foundation Trust and has also held senior positions at hospitals in Kent, Sussex, Leicester, Cardiff, Sheffield and Ipswich. He was awarded an OBE for his services to healthcare in 2008.
