New health informatics lab for Wales

2nd July 2008

The Welsh NHS IT agency, Informing Healthcare has opened a new health informatics research laboratory at Swansea University.

The unit, designed to help find innovative new ways of treating patients, was officially opened by the Welsh health minister Edwina Hart. Informing Healthcare says it is the first of its kind in the UK and Europe to simulate a range of healthcare settings experienced by patients in Wales and will enable researchers to learn about innovative new technology, which can be tested before being introduced in the NHS.
