New high on day 200

26th October 2006

Yesterday marked the 200th day since the hc2d website went live. And coincidentally, it also establishes a new high with 8,500 hits on the website over the 24 hours from midnight to midnight.

It doesn't look like this record will stand for long though because as I write this we have already recorded 5,500 hits today and it is only mid-afternoon. On Friday's, traffic does tend to quieten down as 5pm approaches but the US traffic does continue to give the stats some momentum into late evening.

Considering that our average traffic had just started to level off at around 4,500 hits per day, this sudden upsurge has been a bit unexpected and we're hoping this marks the kink in the so-called hockey stick curve - but let's wait and see.

New user registrations have also seen a marked increase over the last week and we're now finding far more comments are being added as a result. Note the new comments section on the main menu which will appear shortly.
