New measures to tackle failures in foundation trusts

Health Secretary Andy Burnham has spoken about a number of measures which are to be put in place to tackle failures at foundation trusts. 

He has set up an independent inquiry chaired by Robert Francis QC in addition to other measures. He said: "Our overriding priority is to ensure that patients and the public have access to high quality healthcare at Stafford Hospital. The new leadership team are key to building on the progress made and driving forward further, faster improvements."
