Newcastle Cerner go-live delayed

4th September 2009

Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has decided to delay going live with its implementation of Cerner Millennium.

The system is being delivered for Newcastle by University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre (UPMC) outside the National Programme for IT in the NHS and had been due to go-live over the August Bank Holiday. But while the technical completion had been reached the trust has revealed it wants to take more to ensure all the operational implications of the implementation were understood.
