NHS boss in 'new boat' tweet blunder

26th July 2012

Shaun Clee, chief executive of 2gether NHS Foundation Trust in Gloucestershire, has been criticised for boasting about buying a new £15,000 boat on Twitter.

Mr Clee, who runs a trust where staff are facing pay cuts, described how he had bought the fast day boat for inshore fishing or river fishing. Chris Moore, coordinator for Stroud Against The Cuts, said he thought the comments were an outrageous show of arrogance from management at a time that all staff earning more than £21,000 could face a pay cut, with less leave and bank holiday pay.
