NHS car parking charges dropped

2nd September 2008

The health secretary has said that car parking charges for hospitals in Scotland are to be scrapped.

Nicola Sturgeon said that charging car parking fees were not what patients needed. Ms Sturgeon added: "...the NHS should be free at the point of delivery and it is my firm belief that this should apply whether one comes to hospital as a patient, visitor or a member of staff."
