NHS Choices awarded £80m

6th December 2007

The Department of Health is seeking a new supplier to run the NHS Choices patient information website.

It has gone out to tender with a lucrative three year deal initially worth £60-80m with the chosen supplier expected to attract more than 20m hits to the website and generate significant revenue from the flagship service. Dr Foster Intelligence, a joint venture by the NHS Information Centre and Dr Foster, was appointed in 2007 by the DH to establish the service and deliver and run the website through to March 2008.
