NHS Choices selects Capita

16th July 2008

Capita has been unveiled as the preferred bidder to deliver NHS Choices for the next three years.

The announcement follows more than 70 expressions of interest for the new contract, with Capita selected as preferred supplier ahead of Dr Foster, Serco, Fujitsu, IBM and Tata Consultancy, which were also short-listed. The decision means Dr Foster, which won the initial 18-month contract to establish and run the NHS Choices website, has failed to win the £80m procurement run by the Department of Health.
