NHS execs have higher salary than prime minister

5th July 2010

A report has discovered that hundreds of health service bosses are paid more than the Prime Minister's annual salary of £142,500.

320 NHS managers were paid in excess of David Cameron's wage, with 58 being paid over £200,000 annually. Matthew Elliott, chief executive of the TaxPayers Alliance, said: "It's shocking that pay in some parts of the NHS has now reached these stratospheric new heights. It simply isn't sustainable."
