NHS has started year in a strong position

14th September 2009

The first quarter performance report published by the Department of Health has said that the NHS is in a "strong position".

It said healthcare associated infections were decreasing, with a fall of 39.3% in MRSA infections compared to 2008. The GP patient survey reported that 91% of patients were satisfied overall with their surgery. The health service also "maintained delivery of the operational standard to treat all patients within 18 weeks from referral to treatment which came into effect from January 2009."
