NHS in confidential information blunder

8th March 2010

According to the BBC, a blunder by primary care trusts meant some patients in Cambridgeshire received letters containing data about other patients.

NHS Connecting for Health said: "As part of our plans to inform patients about the Summary Care Record programme, NHS Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) have written personally to everyone in England over the age of 15 and a half. Some PCTs have been made aware that, in a small number of cases, more than one patient letter has been placed in an envelope."
