NHS IT review pledge

5th October 2007

The government's health tsar Lord Darzi has said the health service's IT services will be subject to a review.

Lord Darzi's promise came in his interim report on the NHS, which was published on 4 October.

Lord Darzi states that the National Programme for IT has paved the way for change through "a common secure network" but that "more work is now needed to ensure that the Connecting for Health programme delivers real clinical benefits."
