NHS passwords compromised

10th June 2011

A group of computer hackers, known as LulzSec, said it had breached a computer system used by the NHS and accessed sensitive patient information.

The group announced via Twitter that it had found several admin passwords. The Department of Health said the system had been hacked but added: "This is a local issue affecting a small number of website administrators. No patient information has been compromised. No national NHS information systems have been affected."
