NHS trusts limit access to HPV vaccine

4th December 2008

A survey has found that patients could be unfairly denied HPV jabs after it emerged that more than half of primary care organisations (PCOs) were limiting access to the vaccine.

GP journal questioned doctors, with more than half who took part saying that their PCO had asked them not to vaccinate outside the UK’s national programme while almost 75% said the programme should be expanded to include women over the age of 25. Half also thought boys as well as girls should be vaccinated.
