NHS 'victory' for Lib Dems

13th June 2011

Nick Clegg, the deputy Prime Minister, will announce that NHS reforms represent a "victory" for the Liberal Democrats.

It is believed that Mr Clegg will inform his MPs: "We have achieved all we set out to achieve. It's a job well done." His chief political adviser Norman Lamb told the BBC: "This is not a case of triumphalism. This is a case of improving the policy. I think actually this is a good demonstration of why the Lib Dems are currently in government. We can be effective in government achieving changes and acting as a sort of safety valve."
