NI hack day won by mental health app

12th December 2012

A group of clinicians and developers who created a mental health information app emerged as winners in the first Health Hack Northern Ireland event.

Some 40 doctors, developers and designers took part in the event, which was inspired by NHS Hack Day. The event, held over a weekend in Belfast, saw clinicians presenting their ideas to meet the challenges they face in their jobs before teaming up with skilled, volunteer technology enthusiasts. The winning development called “MindMateNI” was an app which provided mental health information and contact details on how to get immediate access to help.
