The National Institute for Clinical Excellence has had great success in distributing its clinical guidance over the web.

Speaking at the recent WWW2006 conference, UK National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence Chairman Michael Rawlins unveiled figures showing that NICE guidance now reaches 180,000 unique visitors per month and over 35,000 e-mail subscribers.

The statistics show a marked increase in visitors to the website over the past two years which include 43% from North America.  The WWW2006 conference, whose speakers included web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee, held its first health-themed day this year.
