No Smoking Day prompts quitting

A poll by YouGov showed that one fifth of people who smoke will attempt to stop on Non Smoking Day, March 12.

The smoking ban has also had an effect, with the survey showing that almost a quarter of smokers - 23% - had cut down on their smoking. Jean King of Cancer Research UK said: 'Giving up smoking is by far and away the best thing you can do to reduce your risk of cancer."
