Nurse left to run ward

13th May 2008

The Save Bridlington Hospital Campaign Action Group has said a nurse was left in charge of a 30-bed ward.

The campaign group said the East Yorkshire hospital has low levels of staff due to cutbacks. Iain McInnes, chief executive of the Scarborough and North East Yorkshire NHS Trust, said the lack of staff was because a nurse reported sick and added: "Patient safety was not compromised at any time during the course of the shift period."
