Nurses are 'high quality'

A professor at the University of Manchester has said that nurses are capable of offering "as high" a standard of care as GPs in many areas of primary care.

Bonnie Sibbald, professor of health services research, wrote in the British Medical Journal that nurses should take on a role at the frontline of patient care: "The GPs’ role should evolve to become that of a consultant in primary care receiving referrals from nurses."
