Nurses key to patient satisfaction

A government report has shown that "extensive" nursing teams increase patient satisfaction.

The report was authored by primary care tsar Dr David Colin-Thome and looked at the features of practices which "scored highly on the most recent patient satisfaction survey". High-scoring practices tended to have "nursing teams that included practice nurses, nurse practitioners, healthcare assistants, dual role administrative and support staff and other healthcare workers such as counsellors".
