Office workers spend too long at their desk

16th January 2012

Researchers from Loughborough University say that office workers need to get out of their chairs more and talk to people face-to-face instead of using email.

In a study to be presented at the British Psychological Society's Annual Occupational Conference they are concerned that people are spending too long sitting at desks but going and talking to people is more sociable, healthy and better for their overall wellbeing. They say people were spending nearly as long at their desks as they were sleeping in the beds.
