Online cut-price plastic surgery concern

23rd December 2011

Doctors have raised concerns about a rise in online deals for cut-price breast enhancements and other plastic surgery which involved involve customers buying a voucher which can then be used later for the operation.

The Association of Plastic Surgeons in Germany feared the rise was because some doctors were feeling the economic downturn but feared people who received vouchers as a gift might feel obliged to have surgery they did not want or need. In the UK, the Advertising Standards Authority recently ruled against an advert which offered a cut-price deal if people responded by midnight.
