Out-of-hours good practice toolkit launched

23rd April 2009

The charity Macmillan Cancer Support has launched an out-of-hours toolkit based around four areas which are often at the centre of breakdowns in care and aimed at sharing good practice.

It focuses on communication and co-ordination of care, access to medicines, education standards of those providing out-of-hours care and resuscitation guidance and policies. It was launched after the charity felt there was a “real lack of this information all in one place” across the whole of the UK. It aims to provide health professionals with a benchmark for good out-of-hours practice.
