Parents launch campaign about skin condition

3rd November 2011

Danny and Julie Oldacres have launched a research fund to help inform people about their son's rare skin disorder.

The couple's three-year-old son Jack has the condition Netherton's Syndrome, which causes chronic skin inflammation. The disorder only affects one in 800,000 people and there are only 16 cases in the UK. The couple said people had accused them of letting their son become sunburnt or scalding him, and Danny added: "We decided we'd rather try and educate people about the disease than get angry or upset at what they say."
