Parents taught healthy eating

21st September 2007

The Children’s Food Campaign has said that more needs to be done to ensure children are eating healthily.

However, while acknowledging that the majority of schools have improved the nutritional value of dinners, work needs to be done at some schools that fail to market the new meals properly.

The charity said that while school dinners themselves may be improving, parents need to be taught the importance of healthy eating as many put inappropriate items into lunchboxes at a time that childhood obesity is a growing problem.
