Patient samples stolen near surgery

4th August 2008

An East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust delivery van containing confidential patient test results and blood and urine samples has been stolen from outside a GP practice.

The White Ford Connect van, which links local surgeries with the William Harvey hospital in Ashford, was stolen from the Central doctor’s surgery in Cheriton Road, Folkestone, Kent. The trust said it was concerned for patients waiting for both test results and those waiting for samples to be analysed to help identify any illness as soon as possible.
