PCT taken to High Court over hospital unit

1st July 2009

A group of campaigners have taken the NHS Wiltshire primary care trust to the High Court in London over its decision to close the minor injuries unit at Savernake Hospital in Marlborough.

NHS Wiltshire has defended its decision to close the department, saying half the patients who used it should have gone instead to their local GP. However, campaigners say that the consltation process over the decision was flawed. The judicial review of the trust's decision is due to end soon.
