PCTs could employ firms to manage patient budgets

Primary care trusts could use private companies in order to help manage personal care budgets for patients.

A Department of Health spokesman said MPs were persuading PCTs to come up with "innovative and creative" ideas for the budgets. "PCTs can work with voluntary organisations, social enterprises or private companies to explore ways to deliver personal health budgets," he said.
