PCTs need to improve CAMHS performance

17th September 2009

Data from the Department of Health has revealed that access to child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) for children and young people with learning disabilities has started to plateau.

Figures for April to December 2008 showed dramatic increases in access CAMHS but that has not continued and now primary care trusts have been told they need to improve their performance in this area after access slowed considerably between January and March 2009 and showed no significant improvement between April and June 2009.
