People in Scotland to get health checks

22nd March 2010

Scotland's health secretary Nicola Sturgeon has said people aged over 40 in Scotland will be able to have no-cost health checks.

She said they were starting by trialling an online scheme in Grampian from April this year and would run a pilot scheme later in 2010."This is the kind of radical approach we need in Scotland," she said. "It is early intervention in action and it will help us tackle the poor health that has robbed generations of Scots of so much potential," she added.
