Plans for new shared maternity leave

12th October 2012

Plans for the government to introduce new shared maternity leave plans have been criticised by business leaders.

The British Chamber of Commerce says the move is "bad for business" and the current tough economic climate is no time to burden small business with more red tape. Spokesman Dr Adams Marshall said small businesses would be frustrated that new shared parenting proposal - under which fathers will be able to take time off work and claim state benefits - goes against the Government’s promise to cut bureacracy.
