Plans to scrap free milk for under fives rejected

9th August 2010

The government has stated it will not proceed with plans to cut free milk for children under the age of five.

UK Health Minister Anne Milton had mentioned the proposals when writing to Scottish Public Health Minister Shona Robison. The Department of Health said that closing down the free milk scheme was an idea that had been "considered" but it had "decided to rule it out".
