PM challenged by cancer sufferer

8th August 2012

Prime Minister David Cameron has been challenged by a cancer sufferer on why the NHS cannot fund the drugs she needs when it can spend billions of pounds on overseas aid.

The caller to a radio station accused Mr Cameron of sending money abroad, which should instead be spent on treating sick patients in the UK. The Government is currently spending £12 billion on overseas aid, an increase of 37% at a time when most departmental budgets are being cut.
