Police probe at hospital

21st May 2007

A number of lines of inquiry are being investigated by police after it was found that three oxygen cylinders had been deliberately tampered with at a West Midlands hospital.

Tubes on one cylinder at Sandwell Hospital, West Bromwich, were found to have been blocked, restricting the flow of oxygen to a patient and later checks also discovered the two other cylinders had been tampered with. West Midlands Police say the items that caused the blockages were now being forensically examined.
