Postal bowel-screening kits launched

28th October 2008

176,000 people in Wales will receive a bowel-screening kit through the post as part of the Bowel Screening Wales programme.

People aged between 60 and 69 will be sent the kits. Dr Hilary Fielder, director of Bowel Screening Wales, said they wanted to spot the cancer in its early stages: "This is when treatment is more likely to be effective. It is also an effective way of preventing the development of cancer in many people."
